As a member of the State & Local Tax team you will report to and work with Partners of the Firm. The primary responsibility will be to manage the tax compliance automation system to ensure effectiveness, efficiencies and profitability. Other responsibilities include: 

  • Tax Consulting 

  • Project/Task Management 

  • Engagement Lead/Management 

  • New Business Development 

  • Recruitment 

  • Staff Management and Development 

  • Personal and Professional Development 

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the broader CohnReznick team in delivering the highest quality service to our clients; interact directly with our clients on a regular basis to better understand and serve their needs; and grow and develop your career with support and mentoring from experienced CPAs in the accounting, auditing, and tax areas of the firm, as well as through your regular participation in internal and external Continuing Professional Education programs. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in industry, alumni and community networking events and you will have the opportunity to participate in recruiting entry level and experienced talent. 

Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus 

  • CPA or JD is required 

  • Minimum of 15 years of tax experience relating to sales/use taxes 

  • Solid experience leading tax compliance automation software projects; including knowledge of Thomson Reuters OneSource, Vertex or other software 

  • Solid experience in researching and addressing multi-state sales/use tax matters 

  • Proven competence with MS Office, including advanced Excel skills 

  • Working knowledge of tax software, including CCH and RIA Checkpoint 

  • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task 

  • Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills 

  • Travel required - approximately 25%
