Industrial Manufacturing Company is looking for:

POSITION: Plant Accounting Manager (Controller) – Reports to Plant Manager

SALARY: $85-100K + Bonus

LOCATION: Avondale, MO (Kansas City)

DEGREE: Required  

EXPERIENCE:  5+ years manufacturing accounting with a strong emphasis in cost accounting

RELOCATION:  Relocation Package

Require standard costing  and Bill of Materials experience

SAP is a plus 

Would be great to have someone that has analytical skills and the ambition to take on more in the department, including financial analysis

General Description

Manage all daily; weekly and monthly plant accounting, analysis and reporting and coordinate Month-End inventory costing and valuation, cycle counting, reserves and work order close processes.

Provide effective analysis and understanding of COGS actual results, budget development and variance reporting to senior management by developing insightful reporting.

Present and assist Business Unit Leaders in understanding P/L divisional performance, cost drivers and cost forecasts.

Lead financial portion of vertical reviews for designated business units

Review of month-end cost accounting journal entries and closing activities for inventory accounts.

Maintenance and review of standard cost system, including bill of materials, product routings and standard unit costs.

Maintain COGS functions including inventory transactions, gross margin analysis, and variances.

Assist in preparing capital approval forms, managing fixed assets by maintaining detailed fixed asset ledgers, roll forwards, depreciation/amortization schedules, tracking asset transfers and disposals, and asset tagging.

Perform risk analysis and provide recommendations for internal control enhancements. Ability to work with manufacturing facilities to implement and monitor internal controls.

Requirements for the role

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

Minimum of 5 years manufacturing accounting emphasis in cost accounting experience.

Strong excel skills.

Strong written and verbal communication.

Experience recommending and initiating cost saving, process efficiencies
