Content Product Manager

Wolters Kluwer Little Rock, AR (On Site) Full-Time

The Content Product Manager is responsible for driving the vision and execution for the operational processes associated with managing, producing, and distributing digital content across HLRP’s portfolio of products and content sets (both existing and future). This will include assessing content structure and associated assets and liaising with internal product teams to ensure that we are employing efficient and scalable content processes, including tagging, transforming, and syndicating, to facilitate content-based functionalities meet product and customer requirements. This role facilitates the engagement around content production between Operations, Product Segments, and Technology teams to support the business’ content strategy and transformation work.

  • Execute on a defined content strategy to support business needs

  • Partners with the product, technology, and operations teams to understand existing content workflows, tagging structures, and product requirements of the associated content to recommend content processing improvements

  • Work with the technology and product teams to assess enrichment needs and make recommendations for tagging improvements or enrichment automation.

  • Understand customer/user needs of the content within the product to make recommendations on content-based features/functionality

  • Assist in defining standards and rulesets for content across products and content types

  • Make recommendations on improved content structure to facilitate discoverability and product functionality

  • Identify assets without metadata and define a process for creation and delivery of related metadata

  • Coordinate with the content repository team to test ingestion of new content, receive feedback, and liaise with the product and vendor teams as needed to facilitate successful ingestion

  • Participate in the definition of longer-term enrichment strategies

  • Management of established ontologies, understanding their application through production workflows, and use by associated product(s)

  • Define paths for content syndication, and coordinate between product and technology teams to define requirements

  • Assess and make recommendations for improvements to metadata associated with our content feeds to customers and downstream indexers of our content.

  • Audit source XML to confirm that WK requirements are being met consistently across content

  • Update and maintain vendor tagging requirements as new product/customer requirements are understood and defined

  • Set standards for journals and books to ensure tagging specs are updated in parallel and that content enrichment approaches applied to journals and books is aligned

  • Coordinate testing with product and technology teams when new content features are implemented

  • Coordinate with product, editorial and operations teams to understand requirements around content management

  • Define content management system requirements and oversee development teams implementations of requirements

  • Regularly report out on current initiatives’ status

  • Support go-to-market timelines for new products through ensuring content availability

  • Coordinate with Product teams to define content features within their roadmaps, and support associated timelines

  • Assess cost or resource time required to support new content initiatives, and coordinate with product, technology, and operations teams to assess budget impact



Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, English, communications, or similar program preferred.


  • 3+ years previous experience in production, editing, and digital/multi-media publishing

  • Working knowledge of content delivery on digital platforms

  • An understanding of the capabilities and constraints of web technologies (HTML, style sheets, etc.)

  • Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills

  • An understanding of healthcare-related content and digital products, including taxonomies and related ontologies

  • Ability to work with remote teams

  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities

  • MS Office Suite, Adobe, and XML


Some travel to other office locations; travel estimated at less than 15%
