Job Description
Please Note:
This job announcement is not an offer of employment. This requisition has been established to collect a robust candidate pool for part-time positions that may become available within the designated discipline at CSN. If a part-time position becomes available within the discipline, the hiring department will review the application material of the candidates who have applied and will invite select candidates to interview based on their qualifications. Should a candidate be selected for a part-time instructor position, no minimum course load is guaranteed and teaching assignments, if any, are contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, minimum student enrollment and/or department need. No reimbursement for travel expenses will be provided to local or out of area/out of state candidates and there is no guarantee of continued or future part-time and/or full-time employment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lecture and Lab instruction of Welding Courses. Instruction takes place at the CSN Henderson Campus (700 College Dr. Henderson, NV 89002). Class times may vary according to the process taught and are held mornings, evenings and on Saturdays.
- Present and tailor existing lesson plans, and course materials to include industry experience and insight.
- Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
- Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.
This position will be paid $925.00 per credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum 7 years employed in the welding industry with basic instructional experience included.
Preferred Qualifications
- CWE, CWI, SCWI, NDT Certifications, NCCER Instructor Credentials, OSHA 10, 30, or 500 hr
- Knowledge in Canvas or other Learning Management Systems
