Our partner in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Director of Human Resources with five plus years of experience to join their rapidly growing business.  The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the development and administration of the employee relations program, affirmative action program and employee advocacy. This position interfaces with employees, government agencies and educational institutions.
Essential Functions:
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Directs and coordinates preparation of position descriptions, ensures FLSA classification compliance and oversees job evaluations.
  • Provides advice to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy and employment laws. Assists management with performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues.
  • Develops and builds hiring processes for a variety of levels from temporary staffing to executive placement.
  • Develops, streamlines and enhances staffing systems, tracking reporting and analysis.
  • Assists with recruiting efforts, including maintaining relationships with schools, associations and other recruiters.
  • May represent the organization at selected job fairs or organize representatives from other parts of the business.
  • Manages the Internship program building the company brand and ensuring we have qualified internships for all interested parts of the business.
  • Manages relocation, and other responsibilities related to staffing administration.
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal discrimination and employment regulations including all governmental reporting.
  • Performs investigations on any employee issues including disciplinary action, retribution, EEOC claims, classification, lawsuits, etc.
  • Assists with all new job creation including requirements, descriptions, competencies, and FLSA compliance.
  • Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.
