Position
Do you love working with kids? Are you bursting with fun ideas? We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Summer Program Leaders! In this fun role, you'll be the driving force behind a variety of engaging programs, from exciting sports and games to captivating nature explorations and creative arts projects. You'll plan and lead activities that inspire children, foster their development, and create lasting memories.

  • Lead engaging activities: Plan and deliver a variety of exciting programs, including sports, games, nature adventures, music, arts & crafts, and special events.
  • Spark creativity: Get those imaginations flowing with fun and engaging activities.
  • Build relationships: Connect with children and their families in a positive and supportive environment.
  • Be a role model: Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for learning.
  • Work as a team: Collaborate with fellow counselors and supervisors to create a fantastic summer experience for all.

Major Areas of Accountability

  1. Lead diversified recreational programs including sports, games, nature and music activities, crafts and special events for children from 3 - 12 years of age.
  2. Create and implement program plans. Prepare supplies on a weekly basis, make recommendations for improvement.
  3. Relate to parents and general public in a helpful and professional manner.
  4. Responsible for proper care and safe use of all equipment and facilities.
  5. Participate in staff training, weekly planning and staff meetings.
  6. Set up and clean up activity area including building and grounds.
  7. Complete attendance records, accident reports, evaluations and other work as requested by the supervisor.
  8. Work under the direction and in cooperation with supervisors and co-workers.

Qualifications
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Genuine desire to work with children ages 3 -12 in an outdoor setting.
  • Ability to establish a good working environment with program participants, parents, supervisors and co-workers.
  • Ability to create a positive, fun and educational program environment for all children. This may include children with various disabilities.
  • Ability to plan and lead creative activities.
  • One (1) year or more experience with children ages 3-12 desired.
