Technical Expert - Electrical pumps and filters

Ford Motor Company Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite) Full-Time

This position is a Technical Expert (LL6) position leading the design and development of BEV and ICE electrical epumps and filters.

  • Author and maintain epump and filter engineering specifications

  • Author and maintain epump and filter Design rules and RQTs and associated health charts

  • Co-Lead technical peer reviews with component supervisor

  • Mentor epump and filter D&R engineers across the various global regions

  • Create/maintain Generic FMA documentation

  • Support problem solving efforts and risk assessments for warranty, transmission plant, DV/PV issues

  • Conduct supplier manufacturing process reviews and recommend best practices

  • Conduct benchmarking to optimize epump/filter designs for future programs

  • Work with systems teams to drive SSDS updates as it pertains to epumps/filters and cascade down to component level engineering specifications.

  • Provide Technical leadership in Electro-Hydraulic and Electronic components

  • Continue to develop and leverage hydraulic modelling capability to maximize efficiency and minimize cost – aids both mechanical and electric oil pump design.

  • Conduct training sessions

  • BS-Engineering required

  • MS-Engineering preferred

  • Extensive component engineering design & release experience in electric epumps and filters.

  • Extensive knowledge & experience with associated Manufacturing and quality processes

  • Required leadership skills - quality focused as #1 priority, innovative, excellent communicator, strong organizational skills , highly motivated self starter
