SUMMARY:
The Senior EDI Developer is a enterprise EDI team lead. The Senior EDI developer is responsible for configure and setup EDI software, to include but not limited to, trading partner setup, developing maps, cross reference setup, transaction setup and testing within a system I (AS/400) and DB2/400 database environment. Design and build enterprise wide EDI solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop EDI solutions, and to coordinate with the rest of the IT team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Have a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential. In addition to these technical skills the Senior EDI Developer will assist and mentor more junior developers.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

Degree from a four-year college or university preferred. A minimum of ten or more years of solid development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of experience using TrustedLink for iSeries (TLi)
  • Must be a full-stack developer and understand concepts of software engineering
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of EDI in both X12 and EDIFACT transactions
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of TLi and iSeries
  • Strong experience in TLi visual mapper
  • Proficient understanding of EDI supply chain transactions including 850, 855, 856, 810 and equivalent EDIFACT transactions
  • Experience working with VANs
  • Knowledge and experience in CLP and RPG
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data transport protocols such as FTP, sFTP
  • Strong Experience with DB2/400 database and data analysis
  • Able to monitor and resolve EDI issues in timely manner
  • Experience implementing unit tests
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Self-driven, flexible, and innovative


TECHNICAL and/or MANAGERIAL JOB COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of DB2/400 database and OS/400 operating systems
  • Knowledge of networked computer hardware
  • Ability to manage a help desk system
  • Ability to solve technical problems
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Advanced PC skills, as well as being proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting practices
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to recognize a problem or potential problem and react quickly and effectively
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask, collaborate and work well within a team environment as well as work independently
  • Familiarity to ASW is desired but not required


ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design EDI processes and setup TLi trading partners and network
  • Build TLi maps including multi format logical file and test
  • Remain up to date with the terminology, concepts and best practices for EDI process
  • Design and setup cross references for trading partner and internal data
  • Develop technical interfaces, specifications, and architecture
  • Develop technical design documentation and EDI specification
  • Maintain maps as required for both internal reasons and trading partners' request
  • Directing system testing and validation procedures
  • Directing software programming and technical documentation development
  • Working with customers, vendors and departments on technical issues including EDI system design, maintenance, processing transactions and testing
  • Integrate data storage solutions within DB2/400
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
