Overview

This role is responsible for leading public relations efforts targeting residential as well as small and midsize businesses to create, cultivate
and uphold a positive public perception as assessed by customers. The person in this role will be responsible for creating a multi-faceted earned media strategy that employs traditional PR, internal communications and social media to reinforce brand positioning
at the national and local levels to achieve superior customer engagement and intimacy, drive demand, and build a positive brand impression for Kinetic by Windstream. An integral part of a high-performing marketing team, the successful PR Director will oversee
and work with third party agencies, directing activity, editing releases, applying best practices, testing results and performance analysis to generate improved engagement with prospective and existing customers.

Roles/Responsibilities

This position plays an essential role in the planning, development, coordination and implementation of
media relations initiatives that are designed to improve brand perception and consideration as well as to drive customer acquisition and retention with existing and prospective customers.

Develop the strategy, planning and execution of media releases, earned media and speaking engagements for national and/or local distribution to be closely aligned to the brand strategy.
Identify speaking engagements, earned media and other opportunities to position the company as the local connectivity provider.
Manage the ongoing coordination of agencies, marketing teams, corporate communications and/or other internal stakeholders to support the coordination of communications.
Lead cross-functional, highly-matrixed teams with the ability to identify and anticipate issues and opportunities that may impact the customer's perception of the company.
Communicate project status to Executive and other internal stakeholders to drive accountability.
Develop reporting to communicate status and performance as well as to provide recommendations and/or action plans for modifications to improve performance.
Provide copywriting and editing expertise that enhances the overall message and improves engagement.

Establish regular performance review windows against established KPI and ROI criteria.


Minimum Requirements

College degree and 8 years professional level experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or 12 years professional level related experience with 3-4 years supervisory
experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.

Preferred Experience

Expertise in public relations and brand messaging development
Expertise in all types of earned media including traditional PR, internal communications and social media/advocacy

Proficiency in strategic brand, product and customer experience communications across customer touchpoints (both offline and online)
Demonstrated proficiency in project management within a time-sensitive environment
Ability to manage multiple project timelines and ensure delivery within time and budget constraints
Expertise in leveraging business insights into effective media relations strategies with the ability to anticipate and address issues and opportunities
Ability to project manage details as well as to identify dependencies that may thwart success
Experience working with senior level business owners to present action plans and results
Experience in vendor and/or agency management
Experience in matrix management of a cross-functional team of contributors
Independent worker with strong initiative and results-oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
B2B marketing experience, preferably in the telecom or technology industries
Flexible travel requirements up to 30%
