Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources Manager at Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning acts as a leader in managing the implementation of HR policies and procedures, developing sourcing strategies, managing staff selection, and supporting the administration of benefits. This individual will support CHS Centers and the Central Office, collaborating regularly with the Recruiter, Center HR support, and Professional Development Manager. The Human Resources Manager reports to the Human Resources Director to discuss updates, progress, risks, and issues. Starting salary is in the range of $59,735 - $79,746 per year based on expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Administering compensation, benefits, leave plans, performance management, workforce planning, employee relations, etc.
- Expanding, revising, and communicating CHS-wide policies and procedures to Center HR support to ensure consistency across the organization and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Works with Center leadership to identify training needs and provides guidance and/or training when necessary.
- Ensuring positive employment relations and performance management guidance and providing support to managers.
- Gathering information to efficiently develop and implement sourcing strategies in collaboration with CHS Marketing and established ad agencies.
- Maintains integrity of HRIS data by ensuring status changes are processed accurately and timely as well as managing position control for each CHS location.
- Acts as a resource to the Center HR Generalists to be successful in day-to-day on-site issues and tasks.
- Works closely with MHS payroll department via Shared Services to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee pay.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining a talent pipeline strategy, including establishing relationships with higher education institutions.
- Establishing and maintaining a qualified, diverse employee workforce to meet CHS staffing goals.
- Supervise the HR Associate and the Office Coordinator - providing guidance and performance feedback on a regular basis. Approving hourly timecards.
- Completes annual reporting such as EEO, OSHA, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
- SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience using HRIS and ATS systems (Peoplesoft experience is a plus).
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, leveraging an empathetic and compassionate approach to HR that emphasizes people management.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to managing peak work periods and changing priorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to proactively identify problems and implement solutions.
- Responsible, enthusiastic, and cares about working in a mission-focused organization.
- Willingness to be held accountable and receive feedback.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to influence, lead, and educate teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to effectively work with low-income families (preferred).
- Comfortability with technology including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and/or willingness to learn.
- Commitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS and demonstrated high degree of integrity as all CHS and MHS staff are considered to be role models for children.
- US work authorization and successful completion of pre-employment background checks and clearances.
