Security Officer

Reading Hospital Reading Full-Time

Work to create a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, students, and visitors. Assist all
individuals in understanding and conveniently utilizing Hospital facilities. Provide a first response to
emergency situations, and coordinate with outside emergency personnel, like fire and police.

1. Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
2. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.

4. Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and
computer screens.
Frequently within shift (34-66%): Sitting, Walking, Lifting 10 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or
carrying objects, Ability to lift, push, pull with assistance (mechanical or co-worker) the weight of the average
patient specific to department.
Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Standing, Bending, Crouching, Squatting, Crawling, Kneeling, Balancing,
Pulling with force, Reaching above head, Reaching above shoulder, Lift from floor level up, Lift from waist
level up, Lift above shoulders/head, Lifting 20 lbs. maximum and frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects
weighing up to 10 lbs., Lifting 50 lbs. maximum and frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to
25 lbs.

Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
2 year / Associate Degree: Criminal Justice (Preferred)
