We are looking for a Special Operations Mental Health Counselor (LPC, LMHC, LMFT) to join the team who is responsible for integrating the physical, mental and psychological wellness of our service members and their families for the Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing policies, conducting screenings, clinical counseling, case management services, and prevention programming.
  • Serve as a point of contact for behavioral health services for active-duty Special Operations personnel, retired military members, their families, and others as authorized by DoD policy.
  • Provide a spectrum of behavioral health interventions, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidenced-based therapies in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
  • Plan, develop and implement programs designed to foster positive healthy relationships within the family structure and unit connectedness.
  • Promote and maintain communication and harmonious working relationships within the unit, POTFF program, and other DoD and outside agencies.

Education, Credentialing, Certification and Clearance requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in one of the behavioral sciences and able to meet Credentialing and Privileging standards.
  • LMFT Requirements must include:
    • Master's or doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), or
    • A qualifying graduate degree in an allied mental health field from a regionally accredited education institution in conjunction with a program of marriage and family therapy study that is equivalent to the COAMFTE standards.
  • LPC Requirements:
    • Passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) or an equivalent examination.
    • Master’s or higher-level degree from a mental health counseling program accredited for Mental Health Counseling.
    • Post-master’s degree counseling practice qualifying for independent licensure with two years of post-graduate experience.
  • Must have a current state license to practice independently as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as required for credentialing at servicing medical treatment facilities.
