Supply Chain department forSignode’s Equipment and Tools division is responsible for ensuring inventoryavailability at the lowest possible total cost of ownership.   The Buyerwill be responsible for ensuring the timely replenishment of inventory throughmonitoring re-order points and inventory levels and.  The inventory analyst will also providesupport through various analytics, reports, and sharing of data.

Essential Functions:

•        Responsible for the timely replenishment andreordering of inventory for a given set of parts

•        Places purchase orders for production,non-production, and service items with approved suppliers

•        Establishes strong relationships with key suppliersthrough regularly scheduled meetings, teleconference, or visits

•        Issues requests for quotations to suppliers on newparts and established parts to get competitive bids and updated pricing anddelivery schedules.

•        Negotiates with suppliers to achieve pricereductions and maintains a record of cost reduction achievement.

•        Reviews open order status and provides detailedfollow-up to ensure on-time delivery of goods to requested purchase orderdates.

•        Resolves supplier billing discrepancies.

•        Works with the receiving department and qualityassurance department to resolve orders with documentation and qualitydiscrepancies

•        Ensures timely communication is provided tocustomers, production, and other team members, works to resolve potentialservice or operational issues, and informs leaders as required

•        Utilize systems and software to develop and maintainreporting tools to support business decisions

•        Coordinate with other departments to ensure customerdeadlines are met. Achieve and maintain inventory availability targets

•        Utilize systems and software to develop and maintainreporting tools to support business decisions

•        Analyze reports to identify operational issuesthroughout departments





•        Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations orSupply Chain Management or equivalent education and experience

Experience/ Abilities:

•        High analytical and problem-solving skills

•        Strong communication skills being able to translatetechnical operational concepts into ordinary business terms and ideas

•        The ability to interact with all levels of theorganization

•        Developing analytics, reports and communications foruse throughout the organization

•        Identifying areas to drive efficiency andoperational effectiveness

Computer skills:

•        Proficiency in software required or preferred

•        Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables,VLookup, Charts, etc.)

•        Some knowledge of databases & ERP systems is aplus
