Product Development Engineer job in Bordentown at The Judge Group

Position Description

Reports directly to Development Engineering for daily work schedule

Primary functions are to include –

a.       Complete DE assembly work

b.       Document build procedures for transition to production assembly

c.       Work with DE engineers to correct both electrical and mechanical drawings during build

d.       Fabricate necessary fixtures for all work needed during assembly process

e.       Complete all necessary testing for assembled units including electrical and hydrostatic

f.        Understand and implement procedures for potting and varnish processes

g.       Work with Process Dept when testing new materials

h.       Become competent in winding processes and procedures

i.         Obtain all necessary certifications required for soldering, brazing and welding

j.         Construct/fabricate required needs for all DE testing in both electrical and hydrostatic procedures

k.       Maintain RTN High Power Test Cell inclusive of WAGO module calibrations requirements

l.         Implement automation of testing in DE projects.

Secondary functions are to include-

a.       Support IE group efforts in Manufacturing Improvement Projects

b.       Support Production Test

c.       Support Production Assembly

Position Requirements-

a.       Highly self-motivated individual

b.       Strong aptitude in mechanical print and electrical schematic reading

c.       Strong aptitude and experience using hand and power tools

d.       10+ years in mechanical assembly

e.       5+ years of electrical experience including commercial installation and wiring 

f.        5+ years of PLC experience

g.       5+ years of Electrical Testing experience

h.       2yr degree or Trade School equivalent in electrical theory

i.        Travel requirement not greater than 20% domestic and international

j.   Ability to pick up 50lbs regularly

k.   Welding experience a plus

l.   Machining experience with Bridgeport and Lathe a plus
