Are you passionate about environmental science and looking to make a meaningful impact? Join Pinchin's dynamic Environmental Science (ENS) team as a Biological Permitting Project Manager! We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to lead exciting biological and ecological projects from our Richmond, Abbotsford, Victoria, or Kelowna offices. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the implementation of aquatic, terrestrial, vegetation, and/or wildlife projects.
  • Assign and support staff in delivering biological and other environmental consulting projects, including restoration, assessment, permitting, and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Enjoy working and contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • While the position is primarily office-based, there are opportunities and periodic requirements to attend the field for certain projects and leverage your technical expertise.

What You Bring to the Pinchin Team:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience within environmental consulting and/or regulatory agencies (or equivalent experience).
  • A master’s degree, bachelor’s or diploma in fisheries biology/management, biological sciences, wildlife, or water/environmental engineering.
  • Registration with the College of Applied Biology as a Registered Professional Biologist, Registered Professional Forester, Professional Engineer, or related field is considered an asset.
  • Applied experience and skills in assessing and classifying watercourses, identifying wetlands, and assessing wildlife and their habitats are considered assets.
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and navigate solutions for fish and fish habitat, wildlife habitat, wetlands, and streams on client projects.
  • Proven ability to safely manage and/or lead field assessments of two to four people in a variety of settings and conditions is considered an asset.
  • Experience in preparing and managing the preparation of regulatory applications for approval and comprehensive knowledge of navigating and interpreting local government environmental bylaws, Water Sustainability Act, Riparian Areas Protection Regulation, Federal Fisheries Act, Migratory Bird Convention Act, and Species at Risk Act in BC, similar regulations across Canada, and First Nations requirements are considered assets.
  • Strong organizational, technical writing, and review skills in a consulting or regulatory environment (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work in Canada.
  • Valid driver's license considered an asset.
