The Auto Club Group (ACG) provides membership, travel, insurance and financial services offerings to approximately 9 million members and customers across 11 states and 2 U.S. territories through the AAA, Meemic and Fremont brands. ACG belongs to the national AAA federation and is the second largest AAA club in North America. 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):
Responsible for the management, development and profitability of a group of Entrepreneurial Agents in an assigned territory.  Leads the effort to identify, qualify, select and contract with Entrepreneurial Agent candidates.  Responsible for the achievement of business plan goals including: increasing growth, profitability, retention and new business production.  Supports agency production activities including: recruitment, scaling candidates, installation of candidates, on-going validation of training programs to ensure successful producers.  Provides oversight to the development of business plans and communicates results on a regular basis.   Analyzes agency profit and loss information to identify problems and areas for improvement.  Provides oversight to Entrepreneurial Agents regarding controls and compliance issues to ensure meeting corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
Works with corporate EA support to set up training for Entrepreneurial Agents on ACG products (P&C, Life, Tour and Cruise, technology, etc.).  Develops and communicates annual performance goals and analyzes and monitors Entrepreneurial Agent performance to provide regular performance feedback.  Assists Entrepreneurial Agents in developing incremental opportunities by finding underrepresented territories and building associations within underserved communities to ensure increasing production in assigned territories.  Liaises with various corporate support functions to ensure appropriate support of EA program.  Works with the Underwriting department to ensure clear understanding of program and resolve underwriting and compliance issues between underwriting and agents. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree Business, Marketing, Insurance or other related field preferred.
Small Business management experience
Work Environment
Spends a varying amount of time traveling in order to solicit and sell products and attend meetings with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes.  Assigned to a temperature controlled office location for use when not traveling.

Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify):

Successful completion of appropriate State Property & Casualty and Life and Health Sales Licensing exams

Selling insurance in an Agency environment

Strong management and administrative skills demonstrated through recent field distribution leadership of independent contractors

Leadership experience to include recruiting, installation and validation of newly hired Entrepreneurial Agents

Sales/Market development experience including analyzing territories and/or sales markets and developing business plans to increase overall market share

Leadership experience to include coaching, mentoring, challenging and enabling agency producers, and staff to successfully meet objectives and goals.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders in order to share complex information (i.e., production numbers, margins, customer service data, customer defection analysis, in-force data, quality data, etc.) in a clear and understandable manner.

Possession of a valid State driver’s license.

Ability to:

  • Achieve and maintain insurance goals as defined by Regional President
  • Achieve and maintain customer service goals
  • Prospect and develop new sales opportunities in/with assigned territories/EA’s
  • Communicate and transition corporate goals into individual plans
  • Interpret reports and utilize as tools to increase performance of agents
  • Oversee the accurate assessment of insurance requirements consistent with company standards for writing policies
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle in order to travel to various locations to attend meetings
  • Represents Company in a professional and positive manager
  • Identify quality exclusive agencies for appointment with MEEMIC
Willingness and ability to work in any assigned location throughout the state and to work irregular hours.
