Job Description

The Pride Institute is the nation’s first and leading provider of residential and outpatient treatment programs exclusively treating substance abuse and mental health needs of the LGBTQ+ community.  We have been providing our clients a comfortable, safe alternative to traditional treatment programs for over 30 years.

Pride Staff are a talented, diverse, compassionate, and dedicated group.  Some of us are part of the community and some of us are allies.  Some of us are in recovery and some of us have only witnessed the devastation caused by addiction.  Some of us came to Pride with limited knowledge of the unique challenges experienced by our clients and some of us have personally faced those challenges.  We are always learning from each other and from our clients.

We are currently seeking a fulltime licensed Therapist to provide mental health services support to our clients at our residential co-occurring treatment facility in Eden Prairie MN, a suburb of Minneapolis. These services include mental health assessments; individual sessions; crisis management; outreach to client-identified supports; participation in multi-disciplinary staffing and treatment planning; psychoeducational group facilitation; and coordination and facilitation of Pride’s Kindred Family Program.  Our licensed Therapist will also assist with the coordination and supervision of our mental health practicum student program.

We anticipate that the schedule for this position will be Tuesday through Saturday as follows:  9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday; 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday; and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday.  This position is considered full-time and benefits-eligible.

The Pride Institute offers a generous time off policy, health, dental, vision, life and other supplemental policies, as well as a 401k match and a stock purchase program from our parent company Universal Health Services (UHS).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRIDE INSTITUTE: We are a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), one of the nation’s largest and most respected hospital companies. UHS has built an impressive record of achievement and performance. Steadily growing from a startup to an esteemed Fortune 500 corporation, UHS today has annual revenue exceeding $10 billion. UHS has been recognized as one of the World’s Most Admired Companies by Fortune; ranked #268 on the 2018 Fortune 500; and listed #275 in Forbes inaugural ranking of America’s Top 500 Public Companies. The UHS operating philosophy is as effective today as it was 40 years ago: Build or acquire high quality hospitals in rapidly growing markets, invest in the people and equipment needed to allow each facility to thrive, and become the leading healthcare provider in each community we serve. Headquartered in King of Prussia, PA, UHS has more than 83,000 employees and through its subsidiaries operates more than 350 acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities and ambulatory centers in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom.

Job Requirements

We would like to speak with you if you have a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field and an unrestricted LPCC or LMFT to practice in Minnesota.  You will be given special consideration if you are:

  • EMDR certified
  • Licensed by the MN BBHT to provide supervision to our mental health interns and other mental health staff
  • Dual licensed as LADC

Candidates must be free of problematic substance abuse for at least the two years immediately preceding employment with Pride.
