Genesis10 is actively seeking an End User Engineer II resource for a direct hire/permanent position opening.  This position opening is within the transportation industry.  The client is located in Overland Park, KS.

Description:
The client is seeking a technician responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining end user computer operating systems, systems software, collaboration tools and/or related hardware with minimal guidance. This engineering role will participate in the team's activities for design and implementation of end user solutions. This resource will be responsible for implementing, enhancing and optimizing the support of industry standard and emerging technologies, including researching and recommending solutions to improve the supportability and capability of solutions. Coordinates medium complexity projects/initiatives or assists with more complex projects/initiatives. 

Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering, Design and Implementation (35%):
  • Possesses an advanced understanding of end user technologies and the relevant integration points. 
  • Researches use of expanded functions and capabilities within scope of technology/tools. 
  • Delivers designs for solutions within area of expertise
  • Leads team projects. Coordinates the successful execution of project activities. 
  • Assists with project presentations. 
  • Subject matter expert for 2-3 end user areas and documents work and implementation standards/processes/procedures
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of information technology concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to technology solutions.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of project management, and experience with creating and managing project plans, including budgeting and resource allocation.
Technology Innovation: (30%):
  • Looks for opportunities for automation, simplifies and consolidates platforms and processes
  • Participates in vendor contract negotiations for areas of technology expertise
  • Participates in strategy/roadmap creation, identify and recommend new technology solutions to meet business needs
Process and Support (25%):
  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing accurate documentation steps for installation, maintenance and configuration activities. 
  • Refines work and implementation standards/processes/procedures
  • Provide support and ensure reliability of end user technologies, systems and processes according to established procedures and industry best practices.
  • Works to meet team SLAs
  • Maintain scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Proactively communicates status and drives resolution of open issues; identifies and mitigates risks. 
  • Evaluates and responds appropriately to customer issues and requests. Handles medium complex issues without assistance. Escalates when necessary to appropriate team or individual to resolve.
  • Provide 24 by 7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Maintains platform related inventory and other hardware/software/license tracking documentation.
Peer Leadership (10%):
  • May act as a team lead for key areas of expertise and drive key projects or ongoing operational functions 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years' experience in areas related to end user/collaboration
  • Intermediate experience in Active Directory structure and logic.
  • Intermediate understanding of script language as it applies to troubleshooting or discovery (i.e. Powershell, macro, etc.).
  • Intermediate understanding of group policy and script behavior.
  • Functional understanding of Windows operating system deployment and management Experience with client application installation, packaging and deployments, primarily in a Windows environment
  • Advanced understanding of end user collaboration tools and platforms
  • Experience providing executive support, excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Tier 3 incident resolution/root cause analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management.
  • Citrix Administration (XenApp, XenDesktop, Studio, MCS)
  • System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Application packaging and deployment.
  • Image development & management
  • Industry related certification
  • Microsoft MSCE
