About the Role

The Project Manager will play a key role in the BetMGM Project Management organization, leading strategic initiatives and a variety of varied-sized programs and projects across BetMGM.

Using your strong process and planning skills, you will manage projects like Sportsbook and Gaming Initiatives executed by our Product and Software development Squads, Operational Optimization, or Compliance focused projects. The initial focus will be Squad management or Operational process, but projects can vary based on business demand and will expand and evolve over time. This role provides a unique way to get exposure to a variety of business areas, including the executive team, and learn about the Sportsbetting business in a holistic way.

Responsibilities

  • Creates the program and project governance structures from scratch
  • Complies with and effectively applies project management methodology and enforces project standards
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet needs and requirements
  • Identifies resources needed, assigns responsibilities, and hold team accountable to fixed dates and commitments
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project to ensure delivery within scope, budget, and time
  • Facilitates and guides project teams effectively with proper use of tools, processes, and visibility
  • Inspires and motivates co-workers to attain goals and pursue excellence
  • Work alongside project coordinators and junior project managers in the profession and across projects in areas as leadership, methodology, tools, people skills, and navigating various environmental factors.
  • Manage high-visibility, and varied complexity projects and initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business.
  • Full project life cycle ownership from inception, scoping, delivery, and closing: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities
  • Manage projects with a solutions-driven approach providing teams clear direction and clearing any ambiguity
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Understand business needs for each project and make ongoing decisions based on what's best for the organization-even if that means challenging senior stakeholders on critical success factors.
  • Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the strict first-to-market constraints of time
  • Develop and deliver project deliverables, progress reports, artifacts, communication plans, risk plans and other related documents & presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, C-level executives, and other key stakeholders
  • Effectively sets and manages stakeholder expectations
  • Deliver appropriate, concise, clear, and effective executive-level communication
  • Manage project and initiative issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline including resolution and timely escalations

Essential Functions
  • Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and large, established company
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations, and support a diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Knowledge and/or exposure to the SDLC process
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs
  • Experience working with external partner casinos (tribal and non-tribal)
  • Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with external partners
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  • Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors with demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and possess a holistic business view
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Pro-active and can-do approach to problem-solving
  • Experience in Gaming preferred
  • Ability to travel (optional)

The annual salary range for this position is $86,400 to $113,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan

Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements

As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations. Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies. Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment. Please note that the licensing process includes comprehensive background checks which may include a review of criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification.

In addition, candidates must comply with and support the company's responsible gambling policies, procedures and initiatives.

Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus.
