This Doer/Seller consultant will be instrumental in supporting technical Safety & Health project work and helping to grow our Professional Services Consulting business in the Houston market. This exciting position is ideal for someone who loves working on Safety and Health projects and who has a strong network in the Houston and surrounding market areas to help grow our client base and develop new business. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about safety, helping clients understand their risks, and working towards continual improvement. CANDIDATE SHOULD BE LOCAL TO HOUSTON REGION.
Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Hazard recognition, evaluation and analysis, and development and implementation of controls
  • Regulatory code and consensus standards knowledge
  • EHS Auditing (lead ot assist roles)
  • Electrical Safety / Control of Hazardous Energy
  • Confined Space
  • Fall Protection
  • Contractor Safety
  • Emergency Response
  • Prevention through Design
  • Ergonomics
  • Professional certifications (such as CSP) highly desired, but not required
    Other Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong EHS network in Houston
  • High energy and the interest in sales/business development
  • Ability and network to generate leads, coordinating meetings and proposals, and conducting follow up to meet sales targets
  • Developing and maintaining our Customer Relationship Management system to track leads and measure sales performance
  • Maintaining a high profile externally and through membership/ attendance in industry functions, continually increasing contact base
  • Results driven and highly energetic
  • Initiative for business development and client service
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication plus senior level presentation and negotiation skills
  • Self-sufficient in current office applications (eg MS Office)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an EHS or related field of study
  • 5 years of EHS experience in a consulting firm
  • Energy and network to help build business
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Critical thinking ability
