Energy Engineer Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage energy assessment and retrocommissioning projects
- Lead client interaction and set clear expectations
- Detail scopes of work and coordinate with internal or external teams
- Review all deliverables
Desired Professional Attributes
- Experience working with building owners and contractor community
- Proficient with system diagnostics and evaluation
- Experience with facility improvement projects
- Good communication and computer skills
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software: Excel/databases, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Required Experience
- 3+ years of energy engineering experience
- Experience must demonstrate progressively responsible duties up to and including assessing systems on medium to large commercial projects
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building control, and life safety systems
- Ability to review, understand, and evaluate drawings and specifications
Required Qualifications
- Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- LEED Accredited Professional (AP)
