Belmont Behavioral Hospital currently has an opening for a Full time, Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) for our Outpatient Services programming.

The Nurse Practitioner is a member of the medical staff under the director supervision of a physician with expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individual’s mental health problems.  The Nurse Practitioner is an expert clinician who delivers direct care, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of mental health problems.

This position will work in our outpatient setting which includes a general outpatient program, older adult program, intensive outpatient programming, and adult/child/adolescent partial hospitalization program.  The Nurse Practitioner could have responsibilities in all of these program areas.  The Nurse Practitioner must be able to function independently to provide long-term psychiatric care to our patients.  This position requires providing service to all age groups from children/adolescent to older adults in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with appropriate Nursing Practitioner’s credentials. 
  • A minimum of three years experience as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferred, but in the absence of this experience, must be able to demonstrate ability to learn concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment and client care and develop these skills within reasonable time frame via training and orientation program. 
  • Prefer 2-4 years experience in behavioral health. 
  • Basic behavior management.
  • Current license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania required. 
  • Current license for prescriptive authority in the State of Pennsylvania required.
  • CPR certification required.
