Responsibilities

Assists surgical team during operative procedures. Arranges and inventories sterile set-up for operations, and hands items as needed to the operative team. Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the operating rooms. The Surgical Technician is responsible for the provision of surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes, and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Graduate of an approved school of surgical technology.

Experience:

Demonstrates ability to work in demanding and stressful situations.

Licenses/Certificates:

Certification a plus.

BLS Certification (Required)

Required Skills:

Excellent Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Power equipment,
Laparoscopy Cart, Camera System, TV Monitor, Light Source, Insufflator, Phaco machine, smoke evacuator,
Microscopes, OR beds, D&E machine, Autoclave, Emergency equipment, or other equipment as necessary.
