About the Role


The Company is seeking a Senior Director of Finance to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission to promote open research practices. The successful candidate will be a key leader in financial strategy and planning, working closely with the Executive Team and Board of Directors to ensure that financial operations are in line with the company's strategic goals. This includes overseeing the development of budgets, financial forecasts, and financial modeling, as well as providing insightful financial analyses to support decision-making. The role also involves managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and maintaining effective internal controls. The Senior Director will be responsible for grant and fund management, as well as banking and investment strategy, and will lead a team to foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and transparency.

Ideal candidates for the Senior Director of Finance position at the company will have a Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field, with a Master's degree or MBA preferred. A Chartered Financial Analyst designation is a plus. The role requires 7-10 years' proven experience in accounting, finance, and management, with a strong background in financial project management and a working knowledge of finance law, regulatory standards, and economic processes. The candidate should be adept at financial data analysis, forecasting, and have a history of optimizing financial procedures and systems. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
