Cleveland-Cliffs is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America. The company is vertically integrated from mining through iron making, steelmaking, rolling, finishing and downstream with hot and cold stamping of steel parts and components.
 
As an engineer at the Cleveland-Cliffs Riverdale plant, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance to standards and driving improvement to the system.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer Quality directives, programs, processes, procedures, and controls to ensure that quality systems conform to company, customer, industry, and governmental standards.
  • Plan and conduct internal/external quality system audit program
  • Ensure timely and proactive corrective/preventative action implementation and verifications.
  • Lead and or participate on functional teams working on process compliance and/or improvement activities.
  • Monitor and reports trends in Quality performance metrics and the impact of process improvements through management reviews.
  • Collect and analyze quality data relating to internal and external audits and investigate root causes to identify potential improvement opportunities with the responsible managers.
  • Review risk management assessments as input to investigations and communicate potential risks of non-compliance or non-conformance.
  • Ensure timely and proactive corrective/preventative action implementation and verifications.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and training efforts in the development of QAD (CEBOS) software program with the quality system.
     
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Certified Quality Auditor
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Management Systems or auditing in manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Certified Quality Auditor
     
Preferred Requirements:
  • Certified Lead Quality Auditor or Engineer
  • Working knowledge of ISO 17025 and IATF 16949
