POSITION DESCRIPTION


Regis Groff is a 4A Athletic Program located in Northeast Denver.


Position: Assistant Coach


Reports to: Athletic Director


Location: Regis Groff Campus (Co-op between KIPP: Northeast Denver Leadership Academy and Rocky Mountain Prep). 18250 E 51st Ave, Denver, CO 80249


Compensation for Girls Volleyball Head Coach: $3,888, paid in installments

OVERVIEW OF ROLE


The coach is responsible for the planning, directing, and leading an education-based athletic program that seeks to develop athletes of empathy and integrity. Our ideal candidate displays a high degree of empathy, communication, positivity, trust, patience, responsibility, discipline, flexibility, and interpersonal skills.

You can break big picture ideas into the necessary parts and construct the systems needed to drive toward big-picture goals. You also recognize that effective systems include multiple inputs and as a result, ensure you collaborate with a variety of stakeholders who bring diverse perspectives and experiences as part of your strategic planning.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  1. Accept and implement co-curricular philosophy of the school.

  2. Follow the rules and regulations of the school and league of participation.

  3. Attend mandatory preseason rules meetings.

  4. Attend post-season coaches meetings.

  5. Meet with the Athletic Director regularly throughout the season to discuss progress.

  6. Time-sensitive communication with the Athletic Director.

  7. Utilize provided development opportunities offered by the Athletic Director.

  8. Organize, schedule, and supervise practice sessions (minimum: 4 contact nights/week, 5 preferred).

  9. Communicate any practice changes to the Athletic Director.

  10. Manage staff of assistant coaches and any managers.

  11. Supervise and be responsible for the equipment in your sport including handing out and collecting uniforms.

  12. Report scores and stats to MaxPreps within 24 hours of game completion.

  13. Communicate and disseminate information to players, families, and the broader school community as needed related to practice schedules, tryout information, and any other relevant program information.

  14. Maintain appropriate supervision of the program at all times (locker rooms, practices, events, bus rides, etc.).

  15. Ensure that the team reflects proper attitude and conduct at all times.

  16. Represent the school in a professional manner in demeanor, language, and conduct.

  17. Create and coordinate all offseason development opportunities necessary for building a competitive program.

  18. Any ad hoc duties assigned by the Athletic Director.


REQUIREMENTS



  1. Experience preferred, demonstrable understanding of the sport seeking to coach.

  2. Teamwork and team-building skills.

  3. Communication skills.

  4. Unwavering commitment to growing personally and professionally as an anti-racist, anti-oppressive organization.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS



  1. Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree.

  2. Speaks Spanish.

  3. Demonstrated success working with students from historically marginalized communities.
