Undergraduate Research Assistant - Black Studies Archive
Serve as an undergraduate research assistant on the project: The Black Studies Archive at Pace.
This project is to establish a Black Studies Archive that will collect, preserve, and promote the scholarship of Pace students and faculty. It will be a digital and physical collection built on the research papers and teaching materials of Distinguished Professor Jean Fagan Yellin, who started teaching in Pace's English department in 1968, whose work brought justice to African American writer Harriet Jacobs, and who recently passed away in 2023; and Distinguished Professor Ellease Ebele Oseye, who retired in 2022 after 47 years in our department as an expert on the Black Arts movement.
The undergraduate research assistant will:
•Organize, sort, and catalogue physical materials (e.g., books, papers, photographs) in the Yellin and Oseye collections
•Scan and digitize any materials in need of preservation in these physical collections
•Curate and interpret their original research and teaching materials in Black Studies for today's student audiences
