EMBEDDED HARDWARE TEST ENGINEER

Responsibilities include test and debug of embedded hardware for audio and video IP streaming and processing products.  Includes developing test plans, setting up test scenarios and automated testing with scripting based on product requirements/parameters.  Test results will be captured and communicated to management and engineering design teams as required by product needs.  Experience debugging hardware with FPGAs and embedded processors highly desirable.  Will participate in new prototype bring-up while interfacing and collaborating with the design engineering teams.

Qualified Candidates will have:

  • BSEE or equivalent degree (transcripts required).
  • 3+ years of hardware design and test experience.
  • Experience developing automated tests for high performance audio/video streaming and/or networking products.
  • Experience writing automated test scripts and programming using Python, C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, HTML, XML, VBA and assembly in both Windows and Linux environments required.
  • Must have strong hardware debugging skills and understand root-cause failure analysis.
  • Experience with hardware debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzers is essential.
  • Working knowledge of digital control interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C or RS-232 required.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital video interfaces, especially HDMI and DisplayPort, is a plus.
  • Exposure to FPGA development tools from Xilinx (Vivado) & Altera (Quartus-II) and ability to capture and analyze data from ILA cores is a plus.
  • Experience with RTL coding using Verilog or VHDL is highly desirable.
  • Ability to write and execute test plans for product design verification is necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, computer literate.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.
