RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce is seeking a Solidworks Drafter (Electromechanical systems) in Carlsbad, CA. The Solidworks Drafter (Electromechanical systems) will work to create technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D and 3D digital models of mechanical designs, using measurements, specifications, and additional data from the engineering team The Solidworks Drafter will collect initial drawings, calculations and design ideas from engineers and combine all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification, and develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, fixtures, and controls using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software. Additional duties of the Solidworks Drafter:
  • Coordinate with engineers and project managers to understand the project requirements, verify design details and recommend modifications as needed, according to company and regulatory standards and best practices
  • Work to communicate with manufacturing personnel to create detailed layouts prior to production, and assist in designing, creating, and testing production equipment and fixtures
  • Provide support to the engineering team as needed by creating technical drawings and digital models within deadlines and utilizing multiple methods to ensure deliverables include all relevant design details

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree in Drafting or 2 years of experience in drafting
  • Strong understanding of creating engineering drawings and specifications following GD&T practices
  • Understand scientific units and measures as well as perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Proficient with SolidWorks and AutoCAD to quickly and effectively turn concepts into CAD models and detailed design drawings. Hands-on experience assembling and troubleshooting assembly equipment and fixtures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as editing drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Should have sound knowledge about the general concepts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
  • Should possess good interpersonal and writing abilities
  • Should be able to think critically with the use of logical reasoning
  • Good time management skills with the ability to manage multiple customers/projects at once through understanding of priority
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances
Nice to Have:
  • Ability to perform tolerance stack up analysis on CAD assemblies
  • Ability to create dynamic complex CAD assemblies with understanding of interference interactions between components taking into account tolerancing of the individual comports that make up the assemblies
  • Experience in actual medical device development form prototyping the way through to production
