New Product Designer

the New Product Designer will support the new product development and product and process improvement projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. This includes all aspects of the project including designs, analysis and management of the engineering work. The New Product Designer will integrate customer, market, and code requirements with manufacturability and cost constraints to arrive at a unique and desirable architectural solution. Industry-leading product and process innovations are the primary outputs of the New Product Designer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Responsibility for new product design projects from conceptualization to launch

  2. Brainstorming, hands on prototyping, and physical testing of design concepts

  3. Creates component specifications and coordinates technical supplier communications for NPD. Supplements purchasing support of NPD sourcing and costing needs.

  4. Developing and coordinating execution of complete product validation plan including FMEAs and compliance testing.

  5. Manages outside design and listing service communications for NPD.

  6. Coordinates and supports execution of details related to product launches instructions, sales samples, literature, and tradeshow planning.

  7. Performs NPD post launch audits. Supports continuous improvement of NPD processes.

  8. Supports custom architectural railing businesses needs through research, sourcing, costing, and development of unique job requirements.

  9. Supports development quality assurance programs and warranty claims for technical products

  10. Supports special projects as assigned

  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
