Tentative Schedule: This is a full-time opportunity; Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Buyer Assistant is responsible for administrative support related to Purchasing Department. They will provide support and assistance to the Manager and Analysts.

Essential Job Functions
  • Communicate with vendors, carriers, and distribution centers by getting purchase order confirmations, tracking late shipments, back orders, transfers, shipping discrepancies, etc.
  • Provide administrative support to Analysts: phones, reports, calendars, etc.
  • Type and distribute routine correspondence.
  • Place and record orders.
  • Work with new loads, price changes, and price discrepancies. Place and record orders for stores.
  • Schedule and prepare for monthly supplier meetings.
  • Monitor vendor shipping performance and follow up on late deliveries, partial receipts, factory back orders, and, when necessary, perform expediting of orders to ensure merchandise is received in a timely manner.

Skills and Qualifications
  • One or more years of general office experience.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel software programs.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines. Must be able to prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently and will multiple departments and vendors in a professional manner.
