Tentative Schedule: This is a full-time opportunity; Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Buyer Assistant is responsible for administrative support related to Purchasing Department. They will provide support and assistance to the Manager and Analysts.
Essential Job Functions
Communicate with vendors, carriers, and distribution centers by getting purchase order confirmations, tracking late shipments, back orders, transfers, shipping discrepancies, etc.
Provide administrative support to Analysts: phones, reports, calendars, etc.
Type and distribute routine correspondence.
Place and record orders.
Work with new loads, price changes, and price discrepancies. Place and record orders for stores.
Schedule and prepare for monthly supplier meetings.
Monitor vendor shipping performance and follow up on late deliveries, partial receipts, factory back orders, and, when necessary, perform expediting of orders to ensure merchandise is received in a timely manner.
Skills and Qualifications
One or more years of general office experience.
Proficient in Word and Excel software programs.
Excellent customer service, organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to convey a positive and professional image.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines. Must be able to prioritize.
Ability to work independently and will multiple departments and vendors in a professional manner.
