The Registered Nurse (R.N.) assess, directs, delegates, coordinates and evaluates consumer care through collaborative efforts with health team members and in accordance with the Assessment and Referral process and Nursing process and the standards of care and practices. The registered Nurse may serve as the administration’s designee in supervisory capacity. Coordination of all staff assignments ensures that all consumers will receive optimal care and that the unit duties are completed. Assist in assessments of potential consumers referred for care. This position will function half time in the A&R and half time on the unit with an alternating weekend coverage.
Assist with the night shift nursing needs. Assist to relieve unit nurses for breaks on night shift. Assist with managing the night shift staffing needs. Assist with other administrative tasks as needed. Must demonstrate ability to be a TEAM player. Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and good time management.
The Staff Nurse reports operationally to the Director of Assessment and Referral primarily and to nursing administration, the Director of Nursing.
SCHEDULE: Incumbent will be scheduled on night shift and on operational need. And will be scheduled to function half time as additional Nurse on the day shift as needed. Will be incorporated in nursing low census rotation. Must have demonstrated exceptional Service Excellence Skills.
Graduated of an accredited school of nursing is required. A minimum of one (2) year experience in a psychiatric/mental health field is required. Previous experience as Intake preferred. Previous experience and working knowledge of insurance carriers.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current RN license to practice by the Illinois State Board of Nursing is required. Primary Source Verification shall be required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulations
