Colonial Terminals, Inc. (CTI) is seeking a Dry Bulk Maintenance Technician Shift Mechanic. The Shift Mechanic is responsible to perform inspections and repairs to plant equipment. The qualified candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, able to work a scheduled rotating shift (8 to 12 hours) and will possess mechanical skills working with conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.


  • Must have the ability to monitor, troubleshoot and repair conveying, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems as well as perform preventative maintenance.
  • Operate an oxygen/acetylene cutting torch.
  • Perform work tasks on elevated work platforms which may require the use of fall protection devices.
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a high-performance team or as an individual contributor.
  • Follow safety guidelines and wear prescribed PPE at all times.
  • Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. 
  • May be required to inspect, maintain and/or repair things in confined spaces. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification or technical school education in an industrial or mechanical field is preferred.
  • 2 + Years’ professional experience in industrial maintenance and repair.
  • General Mechanical Skills and Arc Welding Skills required.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklift, backhoe and boom truck.
  • Experience in the proper usage and care of hand and power tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication Skills are required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

This position may require climbing and crawling in or around tight spaces and/or high spaces utilizing a safety harness. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Travel will be minimum.
