Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. In addition, we have numerous facilities in locations throughout the Texoma region.

Nurses provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.  Nurses provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care and the nurse will demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times.   The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice. 

Nurse Manager - Assists the Director in the planning, organizing, and supervising of unit functions.  Ensures service excellence development and personnel management.  Coordinates hospital-wide compliance with state and federal regulations.  BHC Educator - Directs the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the educational experiences for BHC personnel.  Actively assumes the roles as facilitator, change agent, consultant, leader, or researcher in the projects that support the organization in developing and maintaining competence in the workplace setting.  Collaborates with all hospital personnel and other resources to establish organizational research and educational short and long-term goals.  Serves as a role model and provides leadership and guidance.   

Job Requirements

Per licensure requirement.  BSN Preferred.

Two years of experience in an acute care setting required.

Expereince working with psychiatric and/or chemically dependent patient population preferred.

Management, Educator or progressive leadership experience preferred.

Current RN licensure in the state of Texas or compact, Current AHA BLS required at hire.  AHA ACLS within 6 months.

Must be clinically competent in area of population served.  Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.  Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate team leadership.  Must have the ability to problem solve and think critically.  Creative teaching methodology and design to facilitate adult learning needs.  Knowledge base of teaching and learning theories, curriculum design, test measurement, evaluation and research.  Must be skilled in mentoring, flexible and possess excellent critical thinking skills.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Work, Excel and Powerpoint.
