Accident Coordinator Program Manager

Amazon’s Transportation Operations Management team (TOM) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated leader to drive large scale process standardization and improvement initiatives across a rapidly growing area of Amazon’s North American Customer Fulfillment business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team in a huge growth area for Amazon.

• Manage internal/external accident, injury or other incident investigations in-yard and over the road
• Utilize all available resources including internal security cameras and vehicle camera footage as well as externally available video footage to ensure all contributing factors and driver behaviors are identified and documented
• Prepare and ensure results of investigations are documented professionally in standardized reports. Creates accident files that contain all pertinent documentation
• Prepare presentations and documentation
• Determine required driver retraining is identified and documented in accident report
• Continuously improve accident investigation policy, reports and standard work
• Build and maintain statistical analysis reporting based on accident, injury or other incident characteristics to provide trend identification regionally and for the network
• Collaborate with cross-functional resources and stakeholders including; Global Road Safety, EHS, HR, legal, operations, loss prevention, site safety, equipment manufacturers and governmental agencies as needed (DOT, law enforcement, etc…)
• Conduct accident investigation audits to ensure adherence to policy and standard work
• Hire, train, develop, mentor, coach, and supervise additional accident investigators and administrative support and ensure these individuals are adhering policy and standard work
• Recommend training content changes, additions or subtractions as needed based on accident investigation results or findings
• Possess a thorough understanding and effective use of FMCSA, OSHA, DOT, State/local rules and regulations related to in-yard or over the road operations
• Possess a thorough understanding and effective use of all driver training content, driver standard work, company policies and procedures related to CMV and yard operations
• Develop and maintain professional relationships and partnerships as needed to support accident investigation standard work and information gathering
• Work with a variety of internal and external resources to ensure consistent operational coverage of critical tasks in the field
• Work flexible shifts which could include days, nights and/or weekends
• Travel up to 75%


• Completed Bachelor’s Degree
• 4+ years of relevant work experience with accident investigation management
• 4+ years of Experience as a Manager leading a team of FMCSA compliance professionals
• Experience in a transportation or logistics related field


• 4+ years of Experience as a Manager leading a team of FMCSA compliance professionals
• NTSB Highway Crash Investigation certification
• Experience creating and/or improving operational learning processes across teams/stakeholders
• Proven track record of taking ownership, managing conflicting priorities and driving results
• Proven range of skills including high-level strategic thinking, creative ideas, detailed program/project execution, problem-solving, time management, attention to detail, prioritization, and working as both a team player and independently in an a fast-paced, rapidly evolving business Experience in implementing and leveraging new technology to improve operational outcomes
• Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization
