Engineering Manager – Power Generation
Location: Foxboro Mass
Schneider Electric Process Automation is a global technology, software and consulting organisation leading significant change in process manufacturing, plant optimisation, business operations and enterprise performance. We do this by helping our customers to take advantage of manufacturing and business operations. Our solutions help to automate plants and facilities and allow a wide range of personnel to receive and respond to changes in conditions more quickly and effectively, and thereby keep their operations running efficiently and safely.
Directs all aspects of the systems applications engineering organization that may include either pre-sales technical support and/or post-sales customer support. Pre-sales activities involve technical support in sales presentations and product demonstrations, assessment of financial/technical risks. Post-sales activities involve implementation, training and maintenance support, as well as customized applications programming. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Serves as company liaison on specific technical projects with customers. May provide product feasibility analysis and assessment of in-house capability and manpower requirements in support of sales efforts with sales representatives. Works with Proposals Teams to support project proposals including estimates of project schedules, detailed scope-of-work, manpower cost estimates and project personnel to be assigned.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization.
Frequently interacts with Territory Delivery Directors, Project Managers, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as adviser to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements, and budget responsibilities.
Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.

This job might be for you if:
BS in Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years in a professional engineering role, 2+ years in technical management experience (or equivalent)
10+ years in Power Generation industry with relevant Project execution experience. Experience with Industrial Automation projects, in particular Distributed Control Systems is highly preferable.
