RN Supervisor, Staffing – Site Based Float Pool - Hillcrest San Diego

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is located in the heart of Hillcrest. The RN Supervisor of Staffing will ensure nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. Under the general direction of the Staffing Manager, shares leadership responsibilities for the site based float pool department, including managing daily staffing plans to support multiple units for the hospital. Participates in the hiring process for new staff, including orientation to the department (RN's and Patient Care Assistants) and responsible for ensuring on-going learning requirements are met. Provides guidance and oversight for the staffing liaisons with staffing concerns. Conducts introductory and annual performance evaluations for assigned staff and any performance management areas. Works in partnership with leadership to ensure quality and efficiency in the management of staff including any established work groups or practice councils.

This is a Full Time position Monday-Friday, 3:30 pm to 12:00.am., however flexibility is available with the schedule. Weekend call every 3 weeks.


Required Qualifications:
• Two (2) years RN experience
• One (1) year leadership experience (i.e. charge RN)
• Current California RN license
• BLS through American Heart Association
• Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through
• Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care

Preferred Qualifications:
• BSN - Bachelor’s degree in nursing
