ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Director of Stores will ensure all store locations have support and are implementing the right processes to execute successfully and drive sales. S/he is responsible for overseeing all Brand Experience stores and maintaining its values and culture across the store organization. S/he will lead an enthusiastic team with positive energy and authority to motivate high levels of performance across the entire team. S/he will have a direct and consistent line of communication with Directors of Operations, Events, Training, Creative Services and Merchandising to ensure consistent and timely messaging to all stores.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop mid and long-term strategies for the business growth
  • Oversee national retail operations for all stores activity including escalated HR needs.
  • Manage established store target budget by monitoring staffing levels
  • The financial health of the business, and the natural ability of the system as a whole to meet and exceed relative performance targets
  • Oversee and support in-store execution, training field operations, and logistics
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders on status of metrics (hold stores accountable for sales plan and key KPI)
  • Maintain Brand Experience values and culture across store organization
  • Build and maintain relationships with Macy’s corporate colleagues and store management
  • Work with merchandising on inventory management to ensure timely delivery
  • Partner with operations, event, reporting  and training to ensure timely communication
  • Transmitting and managing Macy's information, requirements, and protocols
  • Collaborate with Brand Experience officer to ensure alignment on all internal communications

THINGS YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience stores leadership and management
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with ability to develop and clearly articulate insights to various audiences
  • Ability to inspire others to action through influence and advice.
  • Resilience, tenacity, high energy. Able to rapidly bounce back from adversity.
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Desire to be hands-on in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time management skills.
  • Must be able to function as part of a team and collaborate with team members.
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency.
  • Possess a thirst for learning.
  • Deep empathy and emotional intelligence
  • Cross-functional exposure and experience in past roles
  • This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Available to work flexible hours based on department and store/company needs
