Title: Investment Banking Associate, Sales & Trading
Grade: 62IC
Overview:
Responsible for supervising and coordinating the execution of investment banking transactions. Responsible for a variety of institutional client relationships, transactional activities and primary and secondary sales and trading.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist Directors and Managing Directors in all aspects of institutional client sales activities.
Supervise research to support transaction positioning and recommendations to enhance shareholder value.
Execute trades on behalf of the bank and our institutional clients.
Maintain appropriate procedures and records to ensure compliance with compliance and regulatory requirements.
Participate in civic and cultural organizations.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The incumbent works independently with minimal guidance from Directors and Managing Directors.
Works in tandem with Directors and Managing Directors in servicing key clients
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelors degree plus eight (8) years work experience in investment banking or a related field with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
OR Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and five (5) years previous work experience in investment banking or a related field with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
Minimum of 3 years’ fixed income trading experience
Excellent knowledge of Windows and PC software programs.
Individual must be comfortable working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment and be able to handle a high-level of responsibility.
Must possess strong analytical, written and verbal skills as well as demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical ability.
Ability to communicate complex subject matter in an understandable level.
Ability to work under critical time constraints.
Self-motivated, well-organized individual.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
