THE POSITION: Retail Architectural Designer

As The Shade Store continues to rapidly expand our national footprint, we are seeking an experienced Retail Architectural Designer to join our team. You will play a key role in the design, look and feel of our soon-to-be showrooms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Developing store layouts from sketch form to schematic design for internal review and further development into CAD documents and 3D renderings
* Assist with design exploration and documentation of projects in 2D and 3D, delivering quality renderings efficiently.
* Aid in preparing of presentation materials
* Assist with furniture, fixtures and accessories research
* Responsible for detailing of fixtures and product displays
* Attending and producing notes for meetings with Business partners
* Responsible for maintenance of prototype specifications and drawing library
* Taking project ownership and managing schedules to ensure company goals and annual operating plan is met

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

* Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design
* 2-4 years of experience in retail design
* Experience in retail architecture a plus
* Experience in interior design documentation
* General knowledge of FF&E, color and materials
* Experience coordinating with outside vendors
* High proficiency with AutoCAD 3ds Max, Revit & Sketchup
* High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat
* Proficient in Word, Excel
* Strong design skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills as well as flexibility/adaptability
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with condensed timelines
* Ability to set priorities with strong initiative while focusing on the importance of teamwork
