**Adjunct Head Coach - Diving Club Recreation and Wellness**

This is a part-time, no benefits position. The Diving Club Head Coach is responsible for the supervision, planning, and organization of all practices, execution of in-competition leadership and strategy, as well as providing mentorship of student-athletes. The Head Coach is expected to travel to all home and away competitions. This position will work closely with the teams Executive Board members and Recreation & Wellness personnel.

**Responsibilities - Essential Functions**

* Plan, develop, and attend weekly practices and ensure safety at all times.

* Assist with developing and overseeing risk management strategies.

* Develop and facilitate training programs for members of various skill levels and interests.

* Attend and assist in scheduling all home and away competitions.

* Performs other duties as required/assigned by club executive board.

**Required Qualifications and Education:**

* Required Previous diving coaching experience. Strong leadership and communication skills.

* Required NFHS level diving certification or ability to complete through GVSU Club Sports before start of instruction.

* Required CPR/First Aid/AED and Concussion certification or the ability to obtain them through club sports before starting instruction.

* Required Knowledge of College Club Swimming organization and their requirements

* Preferred Current lifeguard certification.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

Work is performed outside of a normal office environment and will require night and evening hours outside of typical business hours.Travel will be required for both practice and event opportunities.
