Hotel General Manager Hampton Inn & Suites Harvey

Apartment Association of Greater New Orleans Harvey, LA (Onsite) Full-Time

Summary/Objective The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel, including day-to-day staff management and guest relations. He/She should be an ambassador for the brand and the hotel, providing leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of our service culture, maximized operations, and guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  1. Oversee the daily operations functions of the hotel.
  2. Ensure full compliance with hotel operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures, and service standards.
  3. Handle and complete all guest concerns immediately.
  4. Manage complaints and oversee service recovery procedures.
  5. Manage ongoing profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
  6. Closely monitor the hotel's business reports daily and make decisions accordingly.
  7. Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports.
  8. Oversee and manage all departments, working closely with department heads daily.
  9. Pass and respond to QA/BSA audits to ensure continual improvement and property compliance with brand standards.
  10. Safeguard the quality of operations during internal and external audits.
  11. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations, and other legal requirements.

Supervisory Responsibility Oversee and manage all departments and report to the corporate regional director of operations.

Work Environment This job operates in a hotel/public environment. This role routinely uses standard equipment including Ozone machine, fire panel, calculator, scanner, computer systems, phones, micros point of sale system, laptop, chip card reader (credit card machine), vacuum, mop, bucket, and fire extinguisher.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms, and must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time salaried position with long hours and frequent weekend work.

Travel Some travel is needed for brand certification.

Required Education and Experience Minimum two-year Associate college degree or Hospitality Certification plus 3 years in a previous role as General Manager in the hotel industry.
