As a program manager at Booz Allen, you'll design, implement, and maintain impactful programs by applying technical subject-matter and market knowledge to guide the seeding and growth of publicly financed R&D programs. You will help characterize the state of a technical field, including identifying state-of-the-art technologies and promising new technological approaches. you will also lead efforts to evaluate costs and benefits of technologies and analyze policy solutions to help drive future investments. Your clients will trust you to identify key technical experts across academia, industry, and research institutions, perform technical outreach, and facilitate the formation of new multi-disciplinary technical communities.
As a leader in the climate and infrastructure account, you'll identify opportunities to grow the business by supporting your client's mission. You'll also facilitate solutions developed in response to requests for proposals, including defining the problem space, discovery and elicitation of the customer vision, and the overall technical solution.

You Have:
*
•5+ years of experience in postdoctoral, academic, or industry roles, including transportation safety planning, highway and roadway safety, or innovative transportation technologies relating to intersection safety
* 2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences on research for surface transportation safety
* Experience with leading research teams exploring and developing innovative solutions to reduce fatalities at intersections, leveraging machine perception, artificial intelligence, machine learning, real-time decision-making, and active warning systems
* Knowledge of multimodal road safety and current research and best practices in infrastructure and traffic safety engineering and road safety management
* Ability to demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness when dealing with uncertainty and ask insightful questions that challenge traditional thinking
* Ability to obtain a security clearance
* Doctorate degree
Nice If You Have:
* Experience with transportation safety planning, and transportation analytic methods
* Experience in working with diverse transportation stakeholders, including state highway safety offices, the private sector, NCHRP panels, advocacy groups, and safety-related nonprofits and professional associations
* Experience with State DOT safety plan development or strategic planning in the public sector
* Experience in a consulting environment
* Knowledge of safety as it relates to vehicle design, autonomous vehicles, vulnerable road users, and impaired driving and safety legislation
* Knowledge of safety strategies and plans aimed at assessing and mitigating risks associated with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) and developing Safety Performance Functions (SPF) or Crash Modification Factors (CMF) for ITS and TSMO strategies
* Ability to develop and present briefings and presentations to support internal program audiences and senior client staff, including technical and non-technical audiences
* Possession of excellent data gathering, analytical, problem-solving, and client service skills
* Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
