Job Description

In this role you will be working either on site at one of our client locations as an extension of their EHS organization and/or working on a variety of consulting projects from our offices located in San Jose, Alameda or San Bruno, CA.    Responsibilities may include:
  1. Developing strategic plans to implement and design written EHS programs and procedures specific to the Healthcare industry to include:
    1. Injury and Illness Prevention
    2. Emergency Action Plan
    3. Ergonomics
    4. Chemical Hygiene
    5. BioSafety
    6. Hazardous Materials (chemical and biological)
    7. Radiation Safety
    8. Controlled Substance
    9. Safe Patient Handling
    10. Environment of Care
  2. Performing basic project management and internal customer management.
  3. Job Hazard Analysis and Root Cause Analysis
  4. Assisting clients with Regulatory Inspections to include (Joint Commission, OSHA, CUPA, Medical Waste, Radiation, Controlled Substance, Fire Department, Storm Water, EPA, and BAAQMD)
  5. Developing and delivering First Aid, CPR, and Emergency Response training, drills, and programs.
  6. May supervise and/or mentor junior staff.
  7. Presenting and submitting articles for publication locally and nationally

Job Requirements

  1. This position requires a BS in a related EHS field, prefer an MS  
  2. Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ASP/CSP Eligible (CHSP desirable)
  3. Medical degree – nursing, emergency medical technician (EMT), physical therapist/occupational therapist is a plus
  4. Certified to train First Aid / CPR / AED courses is a plus
 Work Experience
  1. 7-10 years of experience implementing hospital health and safety programs
  2. Direct experience working in a hospital setting

  5. Know how to get and stay organized and meet deadlines
  6. Strong self-management as well as able to help clients keep on track.
  7. Unafraid to network in the field and identify opportunities for prospects and clients
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong business writing and presentation ability
