About the Role
Senior Android System engineer will own various subsystems of security on embedded platforms and will be responsible for designing and ensuring a high bar of trust and integrity in Harman's connected automotive products. The candidate should be a team player and should be able to work directly with cross-domain software developers to understand their business needs and design scalable security solutions. The candidate shall demonstrate practical experience in designing, developing, and debugging tools intersecting command and control to discover potential security bugs and identify fundamental security problems. The candidate shall be able to code, do the peer code review, defect fixes, and also takes the responsibility of porting the existing product to a new platform

What You Will Do
- Develop and support continuous improvement in our scalable security platform solutions for connected cars.
- Lead cross-domain collaboration and technical discussions to model business security requirements into scalable platform solutions.
- Demonstrate experience in debugging tools on embedded (Android/Linux) platforms to identify fundamental security problems and potential security bugs.
- Work with various SoC vendors and help architect scalable solutions based on trusted platform architectures.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related fields
- Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience on the android platform with a focus on embedded systems and/or security.
- The ideal candidate should have good analytical skills, knowledge of engineering discipline, and strong programming skills in Java and/or C++ on the Android platform.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of AOSP framework and/or Android internals.
- Demonstrate an In-depth understanding of Android security OR willingness to take Android security as the next career challenge.
- Self-motivated, results-driven individual and passionate about cybersecurity - Can-do attitude.
- You can leverage both C++ and Java effectively to write performant, maintainable code using core Android SDKs and understand design concepts.
- In-depth understanding of Android security offerings including but not limited to android permission model, android cryptography concepts (keystore, encryption), SELinux, Firewall customizations, etc.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of Trusted Platform Architectures and hardware Security offerings (secure boot, secure OS, secure storage, hardware accelerated cryptographic engine).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and compliance with UNECE & ISO 21434.
- Be willing to travel up to 10%.
- Be willing to work in the Novi office.
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
