Pharmacy Tech

Overview

Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician selects and prepares medications, pharmaceutical products, and intravenous admixtures. Assists in thee dispensing and distribution of medications. Maintains pharmacy merchandise and equipment. Reviews medication cassettes for returned medication; unit doses medication; transports pharmacy merchandise. Performs other duties as required. LHC Group is the preferred post-acute care partner for hospitals, physicians and families nationwide. Qualifications

Formal Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements
  • One year hospital pharmacy experience, preferred.
License Requirements
  • Current state pharmacy technician certification required
Skill Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong mathematical and computer literacy skills
