A Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care primarily through a decentralized model providing service excellence, clinical services, distributive functions, education, and a commitment to the department’s mission. He/she shall demonstrate leadership qualities, serve as a role model, and actively participate in development and revision of policies and procedures, evidence based protocols/ordersets, and quality/performance improvement projects.  Pharmacists shall possess characteristics to successfully fulfill their responsibilities, including effective communication, flexibility, attention to detail, initiative, cooperation, and a high level of knowledge and skills applicable to their area of practice. Emphasis in practice area may include Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Disease/Antimicrobial Stewardship, Medication Safety, Neonatology/Pediatrics, and/or Surgery. Will regularly participate in interdisciplinary rounds/meetings, profile orders for medications,  monitor patient’s drug therapies, provide drug information, and initiate/modify drug therapy based on medical staff approved policies and protocols including nutrition support and pharmacokinetics.  Pharmacist supervises and directs supportive staff, precepts pharmacy students, residents, and pharmacy trainees. He/she will provide information regarding medication therapy in both formal and informal settings to healthcare providers, residents, staff, patients, and families. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a Clinical Staff Pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements Education All: Bachelors  degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) from an accredited institution. All: Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution. Preferred Experience Three (3) years of acute care experience preferred             2 years experience.  preferred                                       Technical Skills All: Knowledge of hospital based information system, reporting features, and Microsoft Office. All: Strong proficiency in computer literacy including but not limited to MS Office, Pharmacy clinical systems (Cerner), and Pyxis technologies License/Certification All: Current Pharmacist License in the State of Florida
