Motor Controls Engineer

Job Description
- Support Cascade of system requirements to motor requirements
- Lead simulation of motor design to meet requirements including providing input into system efficiency simulations
- Provide input and lead creation of marked up motor prints for quotation with supply base
- Work with purchasing and ME to align requirements to purchasing and ME strategy.
- Support development of DVP to enable system lead to quote ED&D required
- Work with Technical experts to maintain design integrity from advanced development work to date
- Be an active participant in cross functional team to answer customer RFQ(Interfaces with Housings, shafts, system, etc.)
- Other DRE duties as assigned
- Presents results and recommendations to customers on more complex projects or with more junior engineers
- Reviews product designs for regulatory compliance and safety, adherence to company standards, and client contract requirements
- Manages vendors, including software, component and system suppliers and outsourced services, in order to meet technical specifications as well as project budget, scope, and timing
- Delivers superior levels of customer service to both internal and external customers while demonstrating Ricardo's core values of respect, integrity, creativity and innovation, and passion
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; Master's degree a plus
- 5+ years motor/inverter software control experience
- 5+ years MATLAB/Simulink
- Understanding of classical controls systems
- Experience with modelling and simulation of electric motors
- Experience with quality processes (CMMI, ASPICE)
- Understanding of vehicle networks (CAN, ethernet)
- Experience with requirements management tool
