Job Details
We are looking for someone that can program with MasterCam for both the CNC lathes and mills and set up and operate these machines. Plus operate manual lathes and mills. This person will be operating both CNC lathes & Mills, plus manual Lathes & Mills. Our CNC machines are Haas plus we have a Hardinge lathe, a Bridgeport mill, a Sharpe surface grinder, and a Sunnen Hone, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of equipment including, but not limited to; CNC vertical mill, CNC lathe, manual mill/lathe, and all other typical machine shop equipment
- Complete machining operations and projects from blueprints, drawings, and/or verbal instructions
- Utilize various measuring equipment to confirm tight tolerances
- Program and machine high precision, quick turn projects as well as reoccurring production jobs with the same attention to detail
- Look critically at all part processes to promote quality and efficiency
- Communicate and give feedback effectively to engineering and production staff
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years with a minimum of 3 years of experience in set-up, operation, and programming of CNC lathe and mill machines
- Experience with machining aluminum, steel, and stainless steel
- Proficiency with typical precision measurements tools such as dial indicators, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other common inspection tools
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience with HAAS Factory Outlet CNC lathes and mills
- Experience with MasterCam, exposure to older versions of the software
- Experience with machining bronze, magnesium, lead, and plastics
- Working knowledge of cutting tools, as well as speeds and feeds for each, regardless of material
- Ability to read engineering prints, proficient interpretation of GD&T feature interpretation
- Working knowledge and experience developing work holding and fixturing solutions required to complete quality, repeatable parts
- Experience with manual honing, precision grinding
- Experience with laser engravers and associated software
- Desire to work with other team members to complete projects requiring multiple disciplines
- Strong communication skills and a desire to help achieve company goals
- Possess a strong desire to help maintain shop cleanliness and organization
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work all required shift hours and overtime as needed
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting, exposure to typical shop chemicals (coolant, solvents, cleaners) are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
MISCELLANEOUS
- Full-time employment, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
- United States citizenship required
- One work location in Torrance
- Benefits include Health insurance, dental insurance, paid vacation and sick days, paid holidays
- Pay frequency is every two weeks
