SUMMARY:

The R&D Chemist is responsible for the development, formulation, and testing of cosmetic and skincare products. This role requires independent project management to ensure timely delivery and familiarity with manufacturing equipment to coordinate activities in the manufacturing operation. Strong adherence to GMP, GLP, and GDP is essential. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in cosmetic and pharmaceutical manufacturing, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and reformulate skincare and color cosmetics, ensuring compliance with quality, stability, and regulatory standards.
  • Research and implement new concepts, materials, and trends to innovate within the beauty industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regulatory, supply chain, procurement, and marketing, to bring products to market.
  • Conduct efficacy, safety, and stability testing, document results, and ensure adherence to GMP, GLP, and GDP standards.
  • Design scalable formulations and processes, create detailed specifications, and oversee scale-up activities to optimize production.
  • Utilize project management techniques to manage concurrent product development projects and ensure timely delivery.
  • Continuously improve existing methods, processes, and formulations for enhanced performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with regulatory, supply chain, procurement, marketing, and external suppliers.
  • Work independently with limited supervision and exercise good judgment.
  • Other duties as requested by business need.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION:
  • Bachelor's degree in cosmetic science, pharmaceutical science, biology, chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical industries preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED FOR POSITION:
  • Experience in formula and ingredient review of existing SeneGence products.
  • Training in COPTIS Lab Software to become familiar with raw materials and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain project files.
